Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information the Loami website collects, why we collect it, how we look after it and the rights you have over it under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Loami is a trading name of FarmLink Capital (Pty) Ltd. We are the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website, which means we decide how and why it is used.

FarmLink Capital (Pty) Ltd, trading as Loami

Registration number 2025/745758/07

Plot 59B, Boschkop, Pretoria, Gauteng, 0054

Email: desk@loami.co.za

This policy covers the Loami website and its waitlist only. The Loami app will have its own privacy policy, which we will publish before the app launches and which will explain how farm data and Profiles are handled.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you join the waitlist we collect the email address you enter and note which sign up form you used. We do not ask for your name, farm details or any financial information on this website.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of your visit. We use this to keep the website secure and working properly.

Information stored on your device

When you join the waitlist, the website saves your email address in your browser's local storage so it can let you know if you are already on the list. This stays on your own device, we cannot read it from there, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

This website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code provided by Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). When you visit, the Pixel places cookies in your browser and sends Meta information such as the pages you view, your IP address and details about your browser and device. Meta may link this to a Facebook or Instagram account if you have one.

We never send your email address or any waitlist details to Meta.

The Meta Pixel only runs if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. If you choose Decline, it does not load. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also clear cookies in your browser, or adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

3. Why we use your information

We only send launch news. We will not use your email address for anything unrelated to Loami.

4. Our grounds for using it

When you submit your email address, you consent to us adding you to the waitlist and sending you Loami launch news by email. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

We process technical information about visits because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the website safe and working.

We only use the Meta Pixel with your consent, which you give by choosing Accept in the cookie banner. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with lenders, insurers, input suppliers or any other third party for their own marketing.

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and send emails. They process information only on our instructions and are required to keep it secure and confidential:

We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our legal rights.

6. Information stored outside South Africa

Some of our service providers may store or process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we only use providers that are bound by laws, binding corporate rules or agreements giving your information a level of protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you have not created a Loami account within 12 months of the app launching, we delete it then. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

8. How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to waitlist information is limited to the people who need it. If a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email us at desk@loami.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Children

The Loami website is meant for farmers and is not directed at anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected a child's personal information, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Loami develops, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.

12. Contact us and complaints

Our Information Officer is Tiaan Venter. For any question about this policy or your personal information, contact us at desk@loami.co.za or at the address in section 1.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you can lay a complaint with the Information Regulator:
